Article Title: Circadian preference, sleep and daytime behaviour in adolescence
Type of source: Primary
Summary: This research project involves thousands of Italian adolescents who took a, “comprehensive questionnaire including items regarding sleep, sleepiness, substance use, anxiety and depressed mood, use of sleeping pills, school attendance and a morningness/eveningness scale.” The researchers analyzed the data and came to the conclusion that differences not only in hours asleep versus hours awake but also in life-styles need to be taken into account when looking at the effects of “circadian preference” on adolescents.
